Jaybird Senior Living is seeking a Culinary Assistant to support dining, kitchen, and related areas under the Culinary Coordinator. Role emphasizes high-quality dining, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance for residents.

We value team players with strong communication and flexibility, willing to work independently and with supervision. Prior elder care or hospitality exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school student 14+ pursuing a diploma.
• Good communication, organizational and listening skills.
• Calm, friendly demeanor with patience and flexibility.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic problem-solving and willingness to accept supervision.
• Preferred experience in elderly care or hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up dining room; serve residents and transport food.
• Set/clear tables, wash dishes, and clean kitchen spaces as scheduled.
• Maintain sanitation and hygiene; use PPE and follow regulations.
• Report unsafe conditions and respond to alarms or emergencies.
• Participate in staff meetings and in-services; assist events as needed.
• Complete incident reports and uphold confidentiality under HIPAA.
• Follow policies, procedures, and state regulations for assisted living.
