Jaybird Senior Living is seeking a Culinary Assistant to support dining room, kitchen, and dish areas under the Culinary Coordinator. The role ensures a high-quality dining experience for residents while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance.

The position requires a high school student (14+) working toward a diploma, with strong communication and teamwork skills. Training is provided, and a supportive environment emphasizes growth and resident care.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school student (14+) pursuing diploma or GED.
• Good communication, organizational and listening skills.
• Calm, friendly demeanor with flexibility and willingness to receive supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the dining room for meals; serve residents and transport food.
• Set and clear tables, wash dishes, and clean kitchen and dining spaces as scheduled.
• Maintain sanitation and hygiene, use PPE, and follow hair covering and hand protection rules.
• Report unsafe conditions and respond to alarms or emergencies.
• Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and safety committees.
• Assist with activities and events as needed.
• Complete incident reports, maintain resident confidentiality under HIPAA, and follow policies.
