Jaybird Senior Living is hiring a Culinary Assistant to support the kitchen, dining room, dish room, and related areas under the direction of the Culinary Coordinator. The role ensures a high-quality dining experience for residents while upholding cleanliness and food safety.

The ideal candidate is a high school student (14+) pursuing a diploma or GED, with strong communication and teamwork skills, and a calm, flexible attitude.

Qualifications

• High school student (14+) working toward a diploma or GED.
• Strong communication, organizational, and listening skills.
• Calm, friendly demeanor with patience and flexibility.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; willing to take supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the dining room for meals and serve residents.
• Transport food to other dining areas and handle dish duties.
• Maintain sanitation, hygiene, PPE use, hair covering, and hand protection rules.
• Report unsafe conditions and respond to alarms or emergencies.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in in-services and safety committees.
• Assist with activities and special events as requested.
• Complete incident reports and maintain resident confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Follow all policies, procedures, and state regulations for assisted living.
