Jaybird Senior Living is seeking a Culinary Assistant to support dining room, kitchen, and related areas under the direction of the Culinary Coordinator. The role focuses on high-quality resident dining, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance, while maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include setting up the dining room, serving residents, and transporting food, along with adherence to safety standards and participation in staff meetings and events.

Qualifications

• High school student (14+) pursuing diploma; comply with state regulations.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Calm, friendly demeanor with patience and flexibility.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Preferred experience in elderly care or hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up dining room for meals; serve residents and transport food to other dining areas.
• Set and clear tables, wash dishes, and clean kitchen and dining spaces according to schedules.
• Maintain proper sanitation and hygiene practices, including use of PPE and compliance with regulations.
• Report unsafe conditions and respond to alarms or emergencies.
• Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and safety committees.
• Assist with scheduled activities and special events as requested.
• Complete incident reports and maintain confidentiality under HIPAA.
• Follow all policies & procedures and comply with state regulations for assisted living.
