Jaybird Senior Living is seeking a Culinary Assistant to support the kitchen, dining room, and related areas under the direction of the Culinary Coordinator. You will help prepare dining spaces, serve residents, and maintain sanitation to ensure a high-quality dining experience.

Qualifications

• High school student (14+) pursuing diploma; comply with state employment regulations.
• Good communication, organizational, and listening skills.
• Calm, friendly demeanor with patience and flexibility.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; basic problem-solving; supervision may be required.
• Preferred experience in elderly care or hospitality settings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up dining room for meals; serve residents and transport food to dining areas.
• Set and clear tables, wash dishes, and clean kitchen and dining spaces per schedules.
• Maintain sanitation and hygiene; follow PPE, hair covering, and hand protection rules.
• Report unsafe conditions and respond to alarms or emergencies.
• Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and food service safety committees.
• Assist with activities and events as requested.
• Complete incident reports and work orders; uphold HIPAA confidentiality.
• Follow Policies & Procedures and comply with state regulations for assisted living.
