Job summary

Grand Lake Health System in Saint Marys, OH seeks a full-time cook to support food production for patients. Shift options include 5:00am–5:00pm or 8:00am–8:00pm with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

The role involves planning production activities, preparing meals from standardized recipes, portioning attractively, and ensuring food safety through temperature checks and FIFO stock rotation. High school diploma required; prior cooking or food service experience preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plans production activities to ensure timely production of food to fulfill menu requirements.
• Portions/serves food neatly and attractively.
• Maintains established portion control when portioning/serving foods.
• Covers, labels, and dates all opened, prepped, or leftover food items placed in storage.
• Prepares food items according to standardized recipes; produces a quality product.
• Checks temperatures of food products to verify cooking and holding temperatures are within acceptable ranges; corrects temperature problems.
• Maintains frozen and refrigerated food storage area by rotating stock, using FIFO, and keeping walk-in freezer and coolers neat and orderly.
