Job summary

White Barn Inn, Auberge Collection in Kennebunk, ME, seeks a Culinary Artisan to join the kitchen brigade, crafting pastries and savory dishes with high precision. You will contribute to daily prep, feature creation, and mentorship while supporting the chef during dinners and functions.

You will assist with requisitions, ordering, and menu development, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate under minimal supervision. This is a hands-on, full-time role in a bustling culinary team.

Qualifications

• Formal training in culinary arts, with a focus on pastry and baking techniques.
• One year Cook II level or previous Cook I experience.
• Proficient in various baking methods, including dough preparation, pastry shaping, and decorating techniques.
• Strong focus on precision and detail to ensure high-quality presentation of pastries and desserts.

Responsibilities

• Work all positions and assist other team members with ongoing mentorship and training development as well as daily prep and technique guidance needs.
• Assist the chef with specialty dinners and events with minimal supervision.
• Develop daily features and special menus with guidance and approval of the chef.
• Assist with all food requisitions and ordering needs with the chef's guidance and approval for cog budgeting.
• Lead and manage service in the absence of the chef.
