The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority seeks a CT Technologist I to operate CT scanners, perform exams, and ensure patient safety and care per departmental protocols.

Requirements include ARRT radiology or NMTCB certification and CT registry within one year of hire, along with BLS. The role involves patient prep, contrast administration, image quality assessment, and teamwork in a dynamic radiology department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARRT-recognized Radiologic or NMTCB Nuclear Medicine program.
• ARRT Radiology or NMTCB Nuclear Medicine certification required; CT registry within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders; refers to Radiologist before exam.
• Identify patient using two identifiers and explain the procedure.
• Prepare patients and document history; review EMRs for pertinent history.
• Record medical history on requisitions; correlate results with exam.
• Assume exam responsibility from start to dictated results; administer IV contrast as needed.
• Evaluate image quality; consult Radiologist; process additional images/measurements.
• Performs CT scanning and assists Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control policies.
• Rotate shifts including call backs, holidays, weekends; follow attendance policy.
• Operate radiology computer system; enter orders and document charges.
• Document contrast administration in MAR; keep work area neat and stocked; assist other staff.
