Job summary

The CT Technologist at Cobb Hospital within the Wellstar system delivers safe, high-quality imaging and patient-focused care during a 36-hour night shift. You will perform CT procedures, maintain ALARA principles, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes patient comfort and safety, accurate documentation, and adherence to infection control and regulatory standards while supporting education and career progression through Wellstar CareerCare.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT, BLS (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and adjust techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, screen for contraindications, and verify orders with two patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address patient questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout visits.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol using venipuncture and sterile technique.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers and shielding as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and reprocess if needed; finalize studies in RIS/PACS.
