Job summary

The CT Technologist at Cobb Hospital within Wellstar delivers safe, high-quality imaging and supports patient care during a 36-hour night shift. You will perform CT procedures, use ALARA principles, and collaborate with technologists across modalities to maintain diagnostic quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification
• ARRT-CT – ARRT Computed Tomography certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjust techniques to maintain diagnostic quality while minimizing dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and patient identifiers.
• Explain procedures using AIDET and address patient questions to reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol using venipuncture and sterile technique when needed.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and re-image if necessary; release patients appropriately.
• Complete accurate documentation and finalize studies in RIS/PACS including transfers and prior exam retrieval.
