Job summary

The CT Technologist at Wellstar Cobb Hospital delivers safe, high-quality imaging and supports patient experiences on a full-time night shift in Georgia. Technologists collaborate with a care team to ensure imaging quality, safety, and comfort while following infection control and RIS/PACS workflows.

Responsibilities include performing CT procedures, maintaining ALARA dose guidelines, preparing patients, administering contrast when needed, and documenting findings for timely finalization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjust techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history, screen for contraindications, verify orders and two patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
• Administer contrast with venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and finalize studies in RIS/PACS; manage transfers/prior exams as needed.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and restock life-support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timelines and support department operations.
