Job summary

The CT Technologist at Mental Health Association of Rochester delivers safe, high-quality imaging and supports a positive patient experience in a busy radiology department.

You will perform CT procedures, administer contrast, monitor patient safety, and ensure studies are finalized in RIS/PACS, with night shifts Tuesday through Friday.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum of 1 year radiology experience.
  • Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT procedures following department guidelines and capture diagnostic images with technical proficiency.
  • Operate imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques to ensure diagnostic quality while minimizing dose (ALARA).
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of rooms and equipment per infection control standards, reporting issues promptly.
  • Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and ensure patient safety through screening and proper identification.
  • Explain procedures clearly, address patient questions, and ensure comfort and privacy using AIDET communication.
  • Administer contrast, perform venipuncture using sterile techniques, and position patients accurately.
  • Review images for quality, repeat or correct scans as needed, and finalize studies in RIS/PACS.
  • Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and assist with life-support equipment and crash carts.
  • Organize workflows, support department operations, maintain compliance, and document procedures accurately.
