Job summary

CARIN Alliance is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT imaging as part of a collaborative care team. The role emphasizes ALARA principles, patient safety, and accurate documentation in RIS/PACS.

The position requires completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT CT certification, and a minimum of 1 year radiology experience, with strong patient communication and safety focus.

Qualifications

  • ARRT - R (Radiography), ARRT - CT, and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans per department protocols.
  • Operate imaging equipment independently, optimizing image quality while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA).
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of radiology rooms and equipment; report issues promptly.
  • Obtain patient history, verify orders, and ensure patient identification for each procedure.
  • Explain procedures clearly using AIDET; address patient questions and reduce anxiety.
  • Position patients accurately, apply shielding, and review images for diagnostic quality; repeat scans if needed.
  • Document procedures in RIS/PACS and ensure finalization of studies.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to emergencies; assist with life-support equipment and crash cart readiness.

Job description

Position Overview

The CT Technologist applies expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. They are valued clinical professionals, essential members of a collaborative care team, responsible for performing CT procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CT scans according to department protocols, capturing diagnostic images with technical proficiency.
  • Operate imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA).
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of rooms and equipment, reporting issues promptly.
  • Obtain patient history, verify orders, and ensure patient identification for each procedure.
  • Explain procedures clearly, address patient questions, and reduce anxiety using AIDET communication principles.
  • Provide age-appropriate care, ensuring patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
  • Administer contrast agents when necessary, using sterile techniques and venipuncture skills.
  • Position patients accurately, apply shielding and markers, and review images for diagnostic quality, repeating scans if needed.
  • Document procedures accurately in RIS/PACS, manage image transfers, and ensure proper finalization of studies.
  • Monitor patient conditions, respond to emergencies, and assist with life-support equipment and crash cart readiness.
  • Organize workflow efficiently, support department operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum of 1-year radiology experience.
  • Certifications: ARRT - R (Radiography), ARRT - CT, and BLS (American Heart Association).
