Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Central Massachusetts seeks a CT Scan Technologist to perform diagnostic CT exams under Radiologist direction. You will gather clinical data, ensure accurate records and support timely image processing.

Qualified candidates are graduates of an accredited radiology program, ARRT/NMTCB certified, and licensed in Massachusetts. Travel between Marlborough and Groton may be required.

Qualifications

Under the supervision of the Senior CT Scan Technologist and department leadership, provides direct patient care services and other related functions in support of the department. Performs independently within scope of department policies. Clinically works at the direction of a qualified Radiologist.

I. Major Responsibilities:

1. Properly performs all CT scan examinations appropriate to the age of the patient in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, consistent with departmental and professional standards and protocols.
2. Gather s pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records.
3. Accurately completes all records, paperwork and billings and submits promptly .
4. Positions and transfers patients appropriately and assists physicians with interventional exams.
5. Promptly and properly completes exams, perform s QC on images and appropriately send s exams to PACS for the physicians to review.
6. Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory and in arranging the purchase of needed supplies.
7. Assists with other job - related duties including urgent exam requests and scheduling.
8. Under the direction of a Radiologist or Emergency Room Physician, perform s CT exams using contrast media according to department policy and procedure s .
9. Will establish IV access for contrast injection according to department policy and procedure.

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

1. Graduate of an accredited radiological program.
2. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or NMTCB certified in diagnostic CT .
3. Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Preferred:

1. -Travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton as scheduled to provide operational, administrative, or departmental support.
2. -The float requirement only applies to newly hired staff at UMass Memorial Nashoba Valley.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

1. Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with peers to product optimum results .
2. Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients and families.

Preferred:

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required , an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
