Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a CT Scan Technologist to perform CT examinations, gather clinical data, and ensure accurate documentation within a busy radiology department. The role requires ARRT/NMTCB diagnostic CT certification and MA licensure, with duties including IV access and interventional support, traveling between Marlborough, Nashoba, and Groton as needed.

The position is non-exempt with a 32-hour weekly schedule, day shift, and potential signing bonus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiological program.
• Registered by the ARRT or NMTCB in diagnostic CT.
• Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
• Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Properly performs all CT scan examinations appropriate to the age of the patient in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, consistent with departmental and professional standards and protocols.
• Gather s pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records.
• Accurately completes all records, paperwork and billings and submits promptly .
• Positions and transfers patients appropriately and assists physicians with interventional exams.
• Promptly and properly completes exams, perform s QC on images and appropriately send s exams to PACS for the physicians to review.
• Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory and in arranging the purchase of needed supplies.
• Assists with other job - related duties including urgent exam requests and scheduling.
• Under the direction of a Radiologist or Emergency Room Physician, perform s CT exams using contrast media according to department policy and procedures .
• Will establish IV access for contrast injection according to department policy and procedure.
• Travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton as scheduled to provide operational, administrative, or departmental support.
• The float requirements only apply to UMass Memorial Nashoba Valley's newly hired staff
• Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives .
• Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
• Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
• Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
• Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients, and visitors.
