Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Georgia is seeking a CT Technologist to join our Radiology team. You will perform CT procedures with ALARA principles, ensure patient comfort, and maintain accurate documentation in RIS/PACS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT – ARRT Computed Tomography, BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history; screen for contraindications; verify orders and patient identifiers.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique.
• Position patients with markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or adjust as needed.
• Complete documentation and finalize studies in RIS/PACS; manage transfers and prior exams.
• Monitor patient condition; respond to emergencies; restock life-support equipment.
• Organize daily workflows; support department flow; ensure areas are orderly and stocked.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
