Job summary

Akumin is seeking a CT Technologist for our Port Charlotte facility. This part-time position focuses on producing high-quality CT images and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

The role requires ARRT CT registration (or NMTCB in lieu where approved), state licensure, CPR certification, and strong patient-service skills. You will work with radiologists and other staff, train new technologists, and support the efficiency of imaging operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT.
• NMTCB acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry where state allows.
• State license required.
• CPR certification.
• Active State Driver's License.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensures patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections.
• Uses aseptic injection techniques as needed.
• Produces high quality diagnostic CT images.
• Communicates effectively with patients and radiologists.
• Trains new technologists and/or PC's.
• Troubleshoots the scanner and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, etc.).
