Job summary

Akumin is seeking a part-time CT Technologist for our Newark, NJ facility. The role focuses on patient-centered care, safety, and producing high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining efficient workflow.

You will interact with patients to explain procedures, work with radiologists, and support training of staff. The position requires ARRT CT registration (or NMTCB CT certification where accepted), a state license, CPR, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
• ARRT CT registration required; NMTCB certification acceptable in lieu of ARRT as allowed by state.
• State license and CPR certification required.
• Active state driver’s license.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and pre-screen for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections.
• Operate CT scanner and related equipment, producing high quality diagnostic images.
• Explain procedures to patients and communicate with radiologists and staff.
• Train new technologists and PC staff as needed.
• Troubleshoot scanner and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, etc.).
