Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and patient care at Cobb Hospital. Technologists are valued clinical professionals within a collaborative care team and contribute to efficient department operations.

The role emphasizes patient comfort, accurate image acquisition, and adherence to infection control; teamwork and clear communication are essential for success in a busy radiology department.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) is required.
• ARRT-CT - ARRT Computed Tomography is required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjust techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout visits.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique as applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are finalized in RIS/PACS.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
