Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking an experienced CT Technologist to perform CT and diagnostic imaging procedures with a focus on patient care and safety. You will work in a fast-paced radiology department, ensuring high-quality images and adherence to ALARA standards.

Qualifications include an AMA-approved radiologic technology program, CT/arrt credentials, and Connecticut licensure or eligibility, plus BLS. Prior CT and radiographic experience is preferred, with flexibility for shift work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and completion of an AMA-approved radiologic technology training program.
• One to two years of CT department experience preferred; prior radiographic experience required.
• Connecticut state license in Radiologic Technology or eligible for licensure; ARRT RT and CT required; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients undergoing CT and diagnostic imaging exams.
• Informs patients about details and expectations of their procedure.
• Maintains competence to perform diagnostic exams on multi-slice CT scanners.
• Facilitates patient flow, prioritizing inpatients, ER patients, and urgent outpatients.
• Produces diagnostic quality radiographs with proper technical factors and positioning.
• Completes paperwork and patient documentation accurately and promptly.
• Communicates effectively with team members and other departments to maximize patient care.
• Operates all equipment safely according to manufacturer specs and ALARA guidelines.
• Adheres to safe patient interactions and body mechanics procedures.
• Meets performance expectations for Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, and Staff/Self Development.
• Performs other duties to ensure smooth department operations.
• Directs orientation and assistance to new staff and radiology students.
