Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a CT Scan Technologist to join our radiology team. Under supervision of the Senior CT Scan Technologist, you will perform CT examinations, prepare patients, and ensure quality images.

Responsibilities include data collection, charting, coordinating with radiologists, and travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton as needed. Candidates must be graduates of accredited radiologic programs and hold ARRT/NMTCB certification and MA license.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiological program.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or NMTCB certified in diagnostic CT.
• Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
• Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Properly performs all CT scan examinations appropriate to the age of the patient in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, consistent with standards.
• Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records.
• Accurately completes all records, paperwork and billings and submits promptly.
• Positions and transfers patients appropriately and assists physicians with interventional exams.
• Promptly and properly completes exams, performs QC on images and sends exams to PACS for review.
• Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory and in arranging the purchase of needed supplies.
• Assists with other duties including urgent exam requests and scheduling.
• Under the direction of Radiologist or ER Physician, performs CT exams using contrast media.
• Will establish IV access for contrast injection according to policy.
• Travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton as scheduled to provide support.
