Job summary

Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, GA is seeking a CT Technologist to perform all duties in the Cat Scan Department under indirect supervision. You will ensure patient care, accurate CT procedures, and high-quality image submissions for radiologist interpretation.

The role requires ARRT certification, education in radiologic technology, excellent patient interaction, and the ability to work with radiologists and staff to maintain quality care and compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Must have High School or GED Diploma.
• Graduate of AMA, JRC or Regionally Accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT Registered or Registry eligible.
• ARRT CT registry required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in positioning of all CT procedures as prescribed by departmental policy and CT protocols.
• Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm understanding and address questions.
• Positions patient and formulates techniques to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomy of interest based on accepted radiographic principles.
• Judges diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation.
• Performs venipuncture for administration of radiopaque media and assists in obtaining informed consent as appropriate
• Reviews all diagnostic imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided.
• Takes verbal orders from providers and enters appropriately in RIS system.
• Prepares and maintains records and enters patient and study information into the radiology information system; documents billing codes of procedures performed.
• Assists, communicates, and consults with Radiologists; may work independently outside the department with providers.
• Observes patient during radiologic exam for change in status and takes appropriate action.
• Provides guidance, direction and mentoring for other personnel in the area including student radiographers.
• Identifies and corrects problems; reports critical occurrences to the next level of authority.
• Utilizes supplies and equipment cost-effectively.
• Maintains continuing education and applicable certifications for modality
