Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital is hiring a CT/MRI Scan Technologist Assistant. You will assist in all CT/MRI department operations, including stocking, oral contrast preparation, exam data entry and more. This is an excellent entry into the healthcare field at Cleveland Clinic.

You will work 8:00am—8:30pm, with 2-12 hour shifts on Tue, Wed, Thur. Follow Radiation/MRI Safety Guidelines and maintain patient dignity and comfort throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• One year of experience in a healthcare related field OR current radiology student.
• Broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Set up rooms prior to procedures and ensure readiness.
• Clean rooms promptly after procedures.
• Assist patients with changing and monitor comfort and safety.
• Discharge patient to appropriate destination.
• Verify patient identification and prepare bands.
• Schedule scans and manage queue.
• Review physician orders and coordinate with inpatient flow.
• Record patient history and ensure data entry in PACS system.

As a CT/MRI Scan Technologist Assistant, you are involved in all aspects of the CT/MRI department operations, including department stocking, oral contrast preparation, exam data entry and more. In this position, you will work 8:00am—8:30pm, 2-12 hours shift on Tue, Wed, Thur.

Responsibilities

• Assure rooms are set up properly before beginning of procedure.
• Clean rooms promptly post-procedure.
• Assure patient modesty and comfort, assist patients with changing, answer call lights as appropriate and report any change in patient's condition or behavior.
• Assure patient is discharged to appropriate destination.
• Check proper identification of patient per policy and create patient identification bands.
• Schedule scans and watch queue.
• Verify physician exam order, look at needs of patient and initiate communication and inpatient flow.
• Document patient history, conditions and any other pertinent information on requisition/history sheet and ensure all data is entered into the computer on day of exam, including nonprocedural changes, additional exams, and order revision.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS, when applicable knowledge in after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork immediately reporting any malfunctions to Help Desk and PACS Administrator.
• Follow Radiation/MRI Safety Guidelines.
• Operate all equipment properly and with care.
• Maintain ethical and professional relationships with all customers, demonstrating cooperative efforts with coworkers and the ability to accept constructive criticism.
• Assess the patient's readiness and need for learning, considering all aspects of diversity and inclusion.
• Determine the best methodology to deliver education and receive verbal feedback or return demonstration to validate learning.
• Provide verbal and/or written instructions for tests/procedures, diagnoses, and discharge when appropriate.

Minimum qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
• One year of experience in a healthcare related field OR current radiology student
• Broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $16.25

Maximum hourly: $23.25
