Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform routine MRI exams for patients of all ages, ensuring comfort, safety and clear information throughout the examination.

You will use advanced MRI technology, participate in daily QA, educate patients on procedures, and mentor radiology staff and students. This is a full-time role with day hours from 7:00am–3:30pm or 8:30am–5:00pm.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with ARRT/ARMRIT CNMT credentials.
• Certification in MRI imaging required within 12 months of hire.
• BLS certification and solid knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
• Ability to educate patients about MRI procedures and safety.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and review patient data to determine contraindications for MRI.
• Perform MRI procedures per protocol and conduct daily QA.
• Educate patients about MRI procedures, equipment and exams.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.
• Report malfunctions and monitor equipment for issues.
• Maintain high equipment uptime for patient access.
• Process billing via RIS.
• Instruct and mentor new hires and radiology students.
• Attend in-service programs and professional sessions.

As an MRI Technologist, you will perform routine MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages, health backgrounds and conditions. A caregiver in this position works days, from 7:00am—3:30pm or 8:30am—5:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination.
• Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA.
• Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment, and exams.
• Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.
• Report any malfunctions and observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or calls for service.
• Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.
• Processes billing via RIS.
• Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students.
• Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
• Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing. Or must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways)
• Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) (required within one year of hire)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certification
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or experience in other imaging modalities

Physical Requirements:

• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
• Requires frequent pushing and pulling of equipment up to 75 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.25
Maximum hourly: $53.00
