Join Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital and experience world-class healthcare at its best. As a CT Technologist, you will produce cross‑section images for diagnosis, interpret instructions, administer contrast, and operate equipment while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

You'll work 4x10‑hour night shifts (7:30 PM–6:00 AM or 5:30 PM–4:00 AM) with rotating weekends and holidays, exposing you to a wide variety of ED cases within a respected health system.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT(R) RT(R) credentialed in good standing.
  • CT certification (ARRT) within one year of hire.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Current state licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.
  • Acquire chart data and verify demographics for accuracy.
  • Confirm the study matches diagnostic needs and learn contraindications.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Educate patients about the procedure and equipment.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media within regulations.
  • Maintain CT area and records for QA and RIS documentation.
  • Coordinate image acquisition, archiving, and printing via PACS.

As a CT Technologist, you will produce cross‑section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues. Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you will accurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. 80% of patients that you will come across this role are coming through the Emergency Department, allowing you to be exposed to a wide variety of cases. This role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system.

A caregiver in this position works 4 10‑hour nights from 7:30PM – 6:00AM or 5:30PM – 4:00AM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.
  • Acquire patients chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set‑up and learn of any specific medical problems and contraindications to the study.
  • Verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs and that the patient’s demographic data is correct in all applicable systems.
  • Assure patient's safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Perform VNA punctures, as necessary.
  • Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and process billing via RIS.
  • Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems to appropriate individuals.
  • Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing
  • Computed Tomography (CT) Certification [R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)] within one year of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
  • Current state licensure
  • Knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $33.50

Maximum hourly: $48.50
