Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans is seeking a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT imaging and mentor junior staff. This role requires ARRT CT certification or eligibility, a valid radiologic technology program credential, and a willingness to travel between facilities as needed.

You will operate CT equipment, review images for diagnostic quality, and use RIS/PACS for care coordination. Strong communication, teamwork, and flexibility are essential for providing patient-centered imaging services

Qualifications

• Required - Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• Required - None.
• Preferred - CT experience.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol (including placement of IV).
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards.
• Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performing notification/remediation as warranted.
• Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.).
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and communicating effectively.
• Performs other related duties as required.
