Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Lead Life Safety Systems CSU Engineer in Clay, NY, to oversee commissioning of fire and life safety systems for safe occupancy and startup readiness. You will validate tests, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate across engineering, construction, QA/QC, and operations teams.

The role requires 10–13 years of relevant experience (or 14–17 years) and a bachelor’s degree in a fire protection, mechanical engineering, or construction field.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent).
• 10–13 years of relevant experience or 14–17 years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Experience with commissioning or related fields (facilities design, engineering, or construction management).

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities for fire and life safety systems from construction through startup and handover.
• Develop commissioning plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Manage functional testing, verification, and troubleshooting of FAS, HGMS, EMS, and related systems.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, operations, vendors, and AHJs to resolve deficiencies and achieve system acceptance.
