Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a production valve technician to join the Operations team in Washington. You will manufacture, assemble, and test valves and controls components for spaceflight systems, supporting integration, test, and quality assurance activities.

You will collaborate with engineers, follow detailed work instructions, and ensure safety with high-pressure and hazardous materials while maintaining schedule and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in aerospace, aircraft, R&D or related fields.
  • Ability to lift items up to 40 lbs. and use lifting equipment and machinery for heavier hardware.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
  • Support one of the following production work schedules: M-Fri? actually Fri-Sun shift 5am-5:30pm indicates weekend shift.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate, test, functionally verify, and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatically actuated cryogenic valves, systems and components.
  • Perform intermediate and/or depot level component maintenance, inspection, and repair.
  • Assist engineers in reviewing and developing design concepts, tooling, test hardware and feedback for improvements.
  • Follow, review, improve and provide feedback on work instructions for complex mechanical systems and installations.
  • Safely work with chemical and/or high-pressure hazardous systems.
  • Ensure tasks are performed on schedule, safely and in a professional manner.
  • Rapidly adapt to changing roles in a high-paced work environment.
  • Show innovation and accountability in the improvement of processes and efficiency.
