Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks a senior Manufacturing/Design Engineer to ensure successful production of high‑pressure, cryogenic hardware like valves and fittings. You will embed with procurement and operations, resolve manufacturing challenges, and drive design improvements for manufacturability and reliability.

The role emphasizes design-for-manufacturability reviews, analysis using 3D CAD/FEA, and documentation of changes per GD&T standards.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Aerospace engineering.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing or design engineering.
  • Solid understanding of fluid components (valves/regulators/fittings) and thermodynamics.
  • Experience interpreting GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication across teams.
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident or eligible for work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production floor support; troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Disposition non-conforming hardware; interpret models, drawings, specs; make clear assessments.
  • Drive design-for-manufacturability reviews for internally-built and supplier hardware.
  • Use 3D CAD and FEA to analyze designs and document reports per ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
