Job summary

Blue Origin, based in Washington, is seeking a Valve Responsible Engineer to own valve design end-to-end across the lifecycle for crewed lunar vehicles. You will perform basic analyses, select materials, create manufacturable drawings, and model components in Creo for integration into flight assemblies.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 4+ years in valve design, and proficiency with Creo and GD&T. Experience with cryogenic systems and ANSYS/CFD is valued; U.S.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
• 4+ years in valve or mechanical/fluids component design.
• Proficiency with Creo for part/assembly modeling.
• GD&T applied to component drawings.
• Familiarity with ANSYS or Thermal Desktop for analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own valve designs end-to-end: requirements, interfaces, detailed design, drawing release, test support, and anomaly resolution.
• Perform first-order structural, thermal, and flow analyses; coordinate with analysis team for higher-fidelity modeling (FEA, CFD).
• Size components, select materials, and evaluate performance under pressure, vibration, temperature, and loads.
• Create drawings and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 for manufacturable hardware.
• Model valves and interfaces in Creo within flight vehicle assembly.
• Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and manufacturing to deliver flight hardware.
• Support development and qualification testing; analyze data and iterate designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in peer reviews.
