Job summary

Bluefors Cryocooler Technologies, Inc. in Syracuse, NY is seeking an Engineering Technician to support R&D and production teams. You will plan, set up, and run cryogenic tests, calibrate equipment, and create 3D CAD models using Autodesk Inventor.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, data documentation, collaboration across engineering and manufacturing, and maintaining a safe lab. The position reports to the Engineering Manager and offers a comprehensive benefits package and competitive hourly

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related field; or trade/technical school certification
• Minimum 3 years in engineering, test, or manufacturing technician role
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling, assemblies, and drawings
• Experience in engineering/product testing, data collection, and documentation
• Precision measurement ability, basic wiring and electrical assembly, and basic manual machining
• Advanced math skills: algebra, trig, graphing
• Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and manuals
• Proficiency in Excel for data analysis
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork
• Excellent English written and spoken communication
• Welding/fabrication experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Plan, set up, and perform engineering tests on cryogenic products and prototypes
• Set up, calibrate, and verify measurement equipment and test beds
• Collect, record, and organize test data; review findings with engineers
• Assemble, troubleshoot, and modify prototypes, test fixtures, tooling
• Use Autodesk Inventor to create and revise 3D models, assemblies, drawings
• Review and revise drawings and BOMs for accuracy and manufacturability
• Partner with manufacturing to support prototype builds and handoffs
• Identify issues during testing to recommend corrective actions
• Provide flexible support across projects and report progress
• Maintain a clean, safe lab and work area
• Perform additional duties as assigned
