Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. is seeking a Head Utility to lead the ship's utility department, overseeing electricity, water, HVAC, and plumbing systems while coordinating with engineering and other departments.

You will manage a team of utility engineers and technicians, plan maintenance, and ensure safety and efficiency at sea. You will mentor staff, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement in utility availability for guest cabins, public areas, galley, and crew facilities while aligning

• Experience in utility operations and management on maritime or cruise ship settings.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Excellent knowledge of ship utility systems: electricity, water, HVAC, plumbing.
• Ability to identify problems, troubleshoot, and implement solutions.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work long hours and varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of utility personnel (engineers and technicians).
• Assign duties, ensure coverage, and manage workload.
• Train and mentor utility staff and provide guidance.
• Monitor performance and address issues.
• Operate and maintain ship utility systems (electricity, water, HVAC, plumbing).
• Coordinate with Engineering to optimize utility consumption and efficiency.
• Oversee monitoring of alarms and control panels for abnormalities.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure utilities for cabins, public areas, galley, and crew facilities.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs, develop preventive maintenance schedules.
• Supervise troubleshooting and resolve utility-related problems.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized servicing.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct safety inspections.
