Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee day-to-day staff, testing and workflow in the assigned laboratory section. You will ensure results follow CAP procedures and coordinate with lab management and operations leadership.

Responsibilities include scheduling, staff development, competency documentation, and participating in quality assurance efforts. The role requires strong leadership to maintain regulatory compliance and efficient lab operations across campus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory staff including hiring, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, and grievance resolution.
• Ensure staff competency documentation and CAP requirements are met (competency sign-offs).
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and coverage across all campus laboratory locations.
• Support management with budgeting, capital recommendations, and policy implementation.
• Provide guidance on complex test results and risk management within the lab.
• Lead quality assurance initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance across the section.
