Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor for Core Lab testing across all campus locations. You will oversee staff, ensure CAP-compliant results, and coordinate scheduling and coverage while supporting cross-campus operations.

The role requires a CLS/MT-level degree and 5 years of lab experience, including 1 year in leadership, with strong communication and LIS proficiency. Travel between sites and on-call duties may be required. A signing bonus may be available.

Qualifications

• 5 years clinical or anatomic laboratory experience.
• 1 year in a clinical or anatomic leadership role.
• Knowledge of evaluation methodologies, data analysis, QC/proficiency testing.
• Strong interpersonal and written/speaking communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory staff; recommend hires, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
• Complete competency documentation for staff; manage scheduling and coverage.
• Participate in management to implement departmental goals and budget considerations.
• Develop and update procedures; ensure alignment with lab practices.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with quality/safety policies and CAP procedures.
• Maintain equipment; provide guidance for complex test results; support QC/validation.
• Train staff on new equipment/assays; support cross-campus coverage.
