Job summary

California State University - East Bay is seeking a Lead CRM Software Developer to provide technical leadership for CRM platforms across CSUEB and partner campuses. You will oversee a team of developers and administrators, guiding requirements, design, and deployment to maximize CRM value.

You will lead initiatives across multiple campuses, ensure code quality, and coordinate integration with enterprise systems while upholding high standards and best practices in software development.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of relevant experience.
• Expert knowledge and understanding of software development methodologies and best practices including software and programming languages.
• Expert knowledge and skill in applying and interpreting applicable standards, guidelines and, as appropriate, recommend new procedures, protocols, and standards.
• Expert analytical and organizational skills to organize, prioritize, and coordinate the successful completion of large, complex, and strategic software development, and/or system integration or migration projects.
• Expert communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate complex technical systems and procedures and persuade stakeholders and management regarding design and development options.
• Experience working in higher education, multi-campus systems, or similarly complex public sector organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership and champions continuous improvement and modernization of CRM platforms across the Network universities.
• Coordinates cross-functional development efforts to support the successful completion of complex and high-impact CRM features and initiatives.
• Leads the CRM software development team in designing, developing, maintaining, and scaling complex CRM applications and solutions.
• Leads production support, including incident triage, root cause analysis, escalation coordination, technical troubleshooting, and post-incident remediation to ensure system stability and service continuity.
• Evaluates complex technical requirements and provides expert technical guidance and recommendations regarding application design, priority features, integrations, development approaches, and technical enhancements.
• Leads and oversees code reviews, testing, and implementation of new releases and ensures development activities are consistent with applicable technical standards, guidelines, and best practices.
• Consults with business analysts, product owners, technical teams, and other stakeholders to analyze requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
• Provides expert technical guidance and support for complex system integration and data migration efforts.
• Applies and interprets applicable data quality standards, IT controls, technical guidelines, and development standards and recommends new procedures, protocols, and standards as appropriate.
• Maintains appropriate technical documentation of development activities, system changes, and release information.
