Job summary

Cal State East Bay seeks an experienced Lead CRM Software Developer to provide technical leadership for CRM across CSUEB and partner universities. You will guide development, deployment, and optimization of CRM applications, lead a team, and collaborate with stakeholders to maximize CRM value.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, with strong knowledge of software development methodologies, standards, and data integration practices.

PLEASE NOTE: The starting salary placement depends onqualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the rangeof $8,231.00 per month to $10,647.00 per month (Step 1 - Step14).

About the Position

Reporting to and with minimal supervision from the Senior Directorof ERP Applications and Business Intelligence, the Lead CRMSoftware Developer provides technical leadership for thedevelopment, deployment, and optimization of customer relationshipmanagement (CRM) applications across California State UniversityEast Bay (CSUEB), San Francisco State University (SFSU), SonomaState University (SSU), and their auxiliaries.

The position leads a team of developers and applicationadministrators, oversees all project phases from requirements todeployment, ensures code quality and compliance, and supportsintegration with other enterprise systems. The lead collaborateswith campus partners and stakeholders to maximize CRM strategicvalue.

Responsibilities
CRM Development Leadership
  • Provides technical leadership and champions continuousimprovement and modernization of CRM platforms across the Networkuniversities.
  • Coordinates cross-functional development efforts to support thesuccessful completion of complex and high-impact CRM features andinitiatives.
  • Leads the CRM software development team in designing,developing, maintaining, and scaling complex CRM applications andsolutions.
  • Leads production support, including incident triage, root causeanalysis, escalation coordination, technical troubleshooting, andpost-incident remediation to ensure system stability and servicecontinuity.
  • Evaluates complex technical requirements and provides experttechnical guidance and recommendations regarding applicationdesign, priority features, integrations, development approaches,and technical enhancements.
  • Leads and oversees code reviews, testing, and implementation ofnew releases and ensures development activities are consistent withapplicable technical standards, guidelines, and bestpractices.
Stakeholder Engagement and Support
  • Consults with business analysts, product owners, technicalteams, and other stakeholders to analyze requirements and recommendappropriate technical solutions.
  • Provides expert technical guidance and support for complexsystem integration and data migration efforts.
Compliance and Documentation
  • Applies and interprets applicable data quality standards, ITcontrols, technical guidelines, and development standards andrecommends new procedures, protocols, and standards asappropriate.
  • Maintains appropriate technical documentation of developmentactivities, system changes, and release information.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and fiveyears of relevant experience. Additional experience whichdemonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge andabilities shown below may be substituted for the required educationon a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field maybe substituted for the required experience on a year-for-yearbasis.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of software developmentmethodologies and best practices including software and programminglanguages.
  • Expert knowledge and skill in applying and interpretingapplicable standards, guidelines and, as appropriate, recommend newprocedures, protocols, and standards.
  • Expert analytical and organizational skills to organize,prioritize, and coordinate the successful completion of large,complex, and strategic software development, and/or systemintegration or migration projects.
  • Expert communication and interpersonal skills to effectivelycommunicate complex technical systems and procedures and persuadestakeholders and management regarding design and developmentoptions.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
  • Experience working in higher education, multi-campus systems,or similarly complex public sector organizations.
