Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a field service technician to maintain and service critical power systems including UPS, batteries, and related infrastructure.

You will perform preventive maintenance, testing, and emergency calls at high-profile facilities, with responsibilities spanning customer interface and on-site coordination. The role requires strong electrical and diagnostic skills, familiarity with NEC standards, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• AA/BS degree in Electrical and/or Electronics or equivalent military training.
• Experience with UPS systems, batteries, test equipment, and electrical apparatuses.
• Strong reading and interpretation of complex electrical instructions, schematics, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Inspect power electronic systems and their controls (UPS, battery systems, STS, PDU).
• Certify that systems and components meet NEC standards and specifications.
• Review drawings and specs for accuracy; determine maintenance requirements and updates.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to owners and engineers; prepare findings and recommendations.
• Maintain safety, quality, and documentation; travel as required; coordinate on-site subcontractors.
