Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health is seeking a Critical Care Tech to support the Viner ICU team under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, performing technical duties, and communicating changes in patient status to the nurse coordinator.

Candidates should have 0-2 years of experience, a High School/GED, and completion of Patient Care Technician training with PCT certification; BLS; CPCT-A preferred.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and active PCT Certification required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• CPCT-A certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, transport).
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and Foley catheter care as directed by RN.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce patient and family education on care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and orientation of new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the due date.
• Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe environment and high-quality care.
• Communicate effectively with patients and visitors.
