UNC Health Appalachian is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide specialized respiratory care across acute and critical care areas in Boone. You will work with physicians, nurses, and care teams to support airway management, ventilation, and advanced therapies with a focus on patient outcomes.

The role offers PRN scheduling with varying shifts in a Mountain community known for outdoor recreation and exceptional quality of life.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• NBRC registry-eligible or NBRC registered.
• BLS certification required at hire; ACLS and PALS within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized respiratory care including airway management and ventilation.
• Manage mechanical ventilation and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
• Perform endotracheal intubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care.
• Administer inhaled medications and respiratory therapies per orders.
• Perform arterial blood gas analysis and respiratory diagnostics.
• Educate patients and families; collaborate with the care team.
