Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of NBRC approved Respiratory Therapist program.
• Registered by NBRC as an RRT.
• Current state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS for healthcare providers required.
• PALS/ACLS/NRP or as-required certifications may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing per protocol.
• Obtain arterial blood gases.
• Oversee and troubleshoot respiratory equipment for patient care.
• Initiate respiratory protocols and interventions as indicated.
• Administer medications safely and timely.
• Document results and patient progress accurately.
• Communicate patient status to staff, physicians, and teams.
• Promote patient and family education on self-care.
