Qualifications

• Graduated from an AMA approved two- or four-year respiratory care program or meets NBRC registry eligibility policies.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NBRC and NC licensure required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• PALS and NRP within 90 days of employment for Pediatrics; ACLS within 90 days for Adults.

Responsibilities

• Promote cooperative work environment through communication and teamwork.
• Provide respiratory therapies following age-appropriate standards and departmental policies.
• Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation and airway support per age-specific care guidelines.
• Document routine clinical procedures and ensure continuity of care; perform point-of-care testing as assigned.
• Provide invasive and non-invasive patient monitoring to ensure safety and appropriateness of care.
• Maintain professional knowledge and contribute to quality improvement to enhance patient service.
• Ensure age/developmentally appropriate care per Age-Specific Care Guidelines.
