Qualifikationen

• Associate of Science degree from an accredited respiratory therapist program is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred.
• Minimum 1+ years of Respiratory Care experience is required.
• Critical care experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with PFT studies and cardiopulmonary testing is highly preferred.
• Past EPIC charting experience is highly preferred.
• Active license for Respiratory Therapy in New Jersey is required.
• Lif e Support certifications (Advanced and Basic) are required.
• Credentialed as RRT from NBRC is required.
• Credentialed as Certified/Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist is expected within 12 months of hire.

Aufgaben

• Evaluates prescriptions, measures ABGs, and assesses patient condition to determine therapy needs.
• Delivers aerosol medications and positions patients to aid breathing.
• Determines method of administering inhalants per physician orders.
• Sets up and operates ventilators and other respiratory support devices.
• Monitors treatment parameters and adjusts equipment for optimum results.
• Maintains patient charts and ensures equipment safety and repairs when needed.
• Provides patient education and supports those with chronic lung disease.
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and staff.
