Job summary

Kindred Hospital San Diego is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide safe, competent care per physician orders in a long-term acute care setting. You will monitor ventilation, administer medications, assess patients and contribute to care plans with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining respiratory equipment, performing ABG sampling, airway management, and patient teaching. This role requires BCLS/ACLS on hire and an RCP license upon hire.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary respiratory therapy credential or associate degree required.
• RCP license required upon hire; CRT/RRT preferred.
• BCLS and ACLS required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care procedures per policies and protocols.
• Document and charge for procedures; maintain care plan elements.
• Verify and initiate physician orders for respiratory care.
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment; disinfect.
• Manage oxygen delivery and ventilation devices.
• Assist airway management and emergent procedures; perform CPR.
• Provide patient and family education; handoff reports.
• Participate in rounds and in-services.
