Job summary

Kindred Hospital San Antonio seeks an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide competent respiratory care across the hospital. You will monitor mechanical ventilation, administer medications, assess patients, and respond to hemodynamic changes as directed by physicians.

Responsibilities include maintaining documentation, initiating orders, device management, ABG sampling, and participating in rounds and teaching activities for staff and students.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary certificate/diploma in respiratory therapy program (Required) or Associate’s Degree (Required).
• Good command of English; ability to document and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work under stress and respond quickly in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Administer safe respiratory care per physician orders.
• Monitor mechanical ventilation and ABG results.
• Maintain accurate documentation and charge capture for procedures.
• Verify physician orders and manage respiratory equipment.
• Perform airway management, suctioning, and weaning protocols as ordered.
• Provide patient and family teaching and participate in rounds.
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff and students.
