Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for 36 hours per week on the dayshift (7a–7p) in the Respiratory Therapy Services department. The role includes ventilator management, therapeutic procedures, diagnostic testing, and collaboration with the care team to ensure optimal oxygenation and patient outcomes.

Required credentials include NBRC RRT, state licensure, and BLS, with an associate degree in respiratory therapy and a preference for BA/BS.

Qualifications

• 2 years critical care experience for some units or eligible new grads with RRT credentials.
• RRT credential required; state licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner/Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and related equipment.
• Administers prescribed therapies and conducts diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and maintains ventilators and noninvasive ventilation; understands critical care duties.
• Evaluates and adjusts therapies with proper documentation and communication.
• Documents therapy results and communicates with the healthcare team.
