Job summary

UTMB Health seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner - Registered (RRT) for night shifts. You will provide comprehensive respiratory care from neonatal to geriatric patients under physician orders and established protocols, including ventilator management and airway support, while collaborating with physicians and nurses.

The role requires NBRC-credentialed RRT, Texas licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, and BLS/ACLS certifications, with preferred PALS/NRP per unit. Partial 20–39.99 hrs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program is required.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC is required.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Texas Medical Board is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Assess the respiratory care needs of patients.
• Administer, monitor, and wean mechanical ventilation and manage airways.
• Perform blood gas analysis and respiratory function tests.
• Transport patients within UTMB and participate in rounds.
• Develop and review respiratory care plans with a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide patient/family education and training for respiratory care.
