Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking a Sr. Respiratory Care Practitioner for the CLC Respiratory/Pulmonary unit (36 hrs/wk, Nights). Requires a Respiratory Therapy degree, RRT, Texas RCP licensure, and 3–5 years of critical care experience; specialty credential within 6 months.

Current BLS/ACLS expected. Eligibility for pediatric/neonatal certifications preferred. The role includes performing pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy support, and precepting new staff, with a focus on patient-centered,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care or related field required.
• RRT credential and NBRC maintenance as well as Texas RCP licensure.
• One specialty credential or to obtain within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory care needs and plan patient care.
• Perform pulmonary function testing and related procedures.
• Maintain and calibrate PFT equipment and CAP readiness.
• Serve as preceptor for new staff and students.
• Assist in Bronchoscopy and interventional pulmonary services.
• Manage time and adapt schedule for patient care.
