Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Critical Care/3W IMCU department. You will work under RN supervision delivering direct clinical and supportive services to patients and families in a high-acuity setting.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and a commitment to excellent and equitable care. Night shifts, 32 hours per week, with every other weekend included, provide opportunities for professional growth and development within a Magnet®

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS and CPR current or within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to pass clinical competency testing.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• One year of PCT experience or nursing student with two clinical rotations or equivalent training.
• Fluency in another language is a plus.
• Previous medical/surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient care interventions for Critical Care patients and families.
• Obtain vital signs, assist with hygiene, feeding, wound care, and emotional support.
• Maintain safe, clean environment and stock supplies in the Critical Care department.
• Support the healthcare team to achieve quality patient/family outcomes.
