Essentia Health in Superior, WI is launching Destination Superior, a new EMS initiative delivering high-quality care across the Twin Port Communities. We are seeking dedicated Paramedics and EMTs who are passionate about patient care and eager to help shape this growing service.

Qualifications

• State licensure/certification as a Paramedic or RN authorized as Paramedic.
• Staff must be dual licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
• BCLS and ACLS required at time of hire.
• PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• Must meet driving requirements and insurer criteria.
• Background check for vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergent and non-emergent calls and hospital codes.
• Provides medical support and care in pre-hospital or hospital environments.
• Assists in the ongoing assessment of patients by identifying the patient's needs and requirements to determine best course of treatment.
• Provides advanced medical care and basic life support service to patients using appropriate medical equipment, devices and treatment modalities.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Responds to an emergent and non-emergent calls &/or hospital codes
• Provides Medical Support & Care for Patients in the pre-hospital and/or hospital environment
• Assists in the ongoing assessment of patients by identifying the patient's needs and requirements to determine best course of treatment
• Provides advanced medical care and basic life support service to patients using appropriate medical equipment, devices and treatment modalities

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

• State licensure/certification as a Paramedic or a Registered Nurse authorized to operate as a Paramedic in the appropriate state of practice.
• All Wisconsin location staff must be dual licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required at time of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required at time of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (or must obtain within 6 months of hire)
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency
• Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health 's insurer
• State Background check must provide clearance to work with vulnerable adults.
