Job summary

Essentia Health seeks Paramedics for a brand-new EMS initiative serving Superior, WI. You will respond to emergent calls, provide medical support in pre-hospital and hospital environments, and help shape a growing EMS program across the Twin Port area.

Qualified candidates hold state Paramedic licensure (RN permitted), Minnesota/Wisconsin dual licensure, and BCLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. Wisconsin staff require dual licensure and a valid driver’s license along with clear background checks.

*** This position is a part of our I-35 Regional EMS and Superior operations, with report to work locations in Moose Lake, Pine City, Hinckley, Superior, and Sandstone. ***

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Responds to an emergent and non-emergent calls &/or hospital codes
• Provides Medical Support & Care for Patients in the pre-hospital and/or hospital environment
• Assists in the ongoing assessment of patients by identifying the patient's needs and requirements to determine best course of treatment
• Provides advanced medical care and basic life support service to patients using appropriate medical equipment, devices and treatment modalities

Schedule will consist of 12, 18, or 24-hour shifts.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

• State licensure/certification as a Paramedic or a Registered Nurse authorized to operate as a Paramedic in the appropriate state of practice.
• All Wisconsin location staff must be dual licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required at time of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required at time of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (or must obtain within 6 months of hire)
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency
• Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health 's insurer
• State Background check must provide clearance to work with vulnerable adults.
